Vidya Jyoti Founder Trustee Dr Pamela Kaushal visited Nigeria for the first time in May 2025, where she met with Vidya Jyoti Medical Director Dr Jones Taiwo, who works as a consultant paediatric surgeon in Lokoja, Kogi state, Nigeria.

A meeting was held between the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, in Kogi state, Dr Kaushal, Dr Taiwo, and Mr Olushola Ayejeto (Vidya Jyoti Nigeria coordinator), where they agreed an MoU with this hospital, for indigent patients to be sponsored, for their medical and surgical investigations and treatments.

Dr Jones Taiwo has taken on the role of Medical Director for Vidya Jyoti Nigeria. He has referred cases of indigent patients to us. As Dr Taiwo is a consultant paediatric surgeon, many of the referred cases are of children, whose surgeries are conducted by him.
